THE SCRIPTURES
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is the primary source of study for growth in our faith life.
THE TRINITY
We believe in God as understood through the work of the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that God came into the world through the ministry and message of Jesus Christ for the purpose of saving the world by leading us back into relationship with the God who created us. (John 3:16-17)
SALVATION
We believe that the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross provides the avenue for the forgiveness of our sin and the redemption of our lives. As Methodists, we believe that God reaches to us through prevenient grace. Salvation occurs when we (through justification) turn to God and acknowledge God through justifying grace. We grow closer to God through (sanctification) and sanctifying grace. We believe that Jesus' ministry and witness, through grace, is the greatest revelation of God's self to humanity.
HUMANITY
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God to have fellowship with God but through sin became alienated in that relationship. As a result, humanity is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God without the grace offered to us through Jesus Christ.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. He indwells Christians and enables them to live godly lives. We further believe that biblical examples of the Holy Spirit's power and gifts are available to believers today.
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. We celebrate two sacraments as a church Baptism and Communion. We believe we all have acces to these sacraments regardless of age because of the work of prevenient grace.
