Jason Chavarria Director of Worship Arts
Jason Chavarria is a native Texan and hails from the small town of Elgin. He is a life-long Methodist and brings with him years of experience directing and conducting choral, instrumental, handbell, and youth ensembles. He is an established vocalist and has led worship services in various styles including modern, traditional, and contemporary.
Jason most recently served as the Director of Worship and Music at First United Methodist Church of Grapevine. He has also led the music ministries at First United Methodist Church of Plano, Plymouth Park United Methodist Church of Irving, and First United Methodist Church of Red Oak. In addition, he has conducted many community choruses, including the Elgin Community Chorus, the Ellis County Community Chorus, and the Irving Chorale.
Jason holds a Master of Sacred Music from Perkins School of Theology, magna cum laude, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Music and Engineering from Brown University. He is currently a certified candidate for ordination with the Central Texas, pursuing Deacon’s Orders.
Jason is married to Carrie Chavarria and enjoys cooking for his family.
